Six Region System

 

Thailand is divided into different sets of regions, the most notable being the six- region and four- region division. A six-region system is commonly used for geographical and scientific purposes. This system dates to 1935. It is divided into Northern Thailand, Northeastern Thailand, Western Thailand, Central, Eastern Thailand and Southern Thailand home administrative and statistical contexts. This is also the regional system most commonly used on national television, when discussing the weather or regional events.

 

In Northeastern Thailand, there are many provinces in Northeastern Thailand some of the main ones are Khorat, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani and Khon Kaen.  In the Western Thailand area, the province is Tak. In the northern region the capital city is Chiang Mai.In Central Thailand, the capital city is Bangkok, Bangkok is also the capital city of Thailand. Western Thailand is also known as Tak. It is the capital of Tak provision.
